.

Adobe FrameMaker 9 Training Video

This multi-part Adobe FrameMaker 9 Training Video is designed to help users master a wide range of creative techniques, even those who have struggled in the past.
What makes this training different is its unique approach. Instead of giving you descriptions of what you need to do, you get direct examples, shown in realtime video so that there is none of the guesswork that comes with traditional instruction. The lessons span an array of techniques you may have never even considered, starting with the basic building blocks of creating a document or book and then showing you how to take your work to the next level with top-notch editing tools and advanced effects. Useful for both beginners and intermediate users, the course is an excellent resource for those looking for a proper introduction or just a quick primer on the software’s new features and revamped graphical interface.
After being announced as the centerpiece of Adobe’s Technical Communication Suite, the program has seen a number of improvements that even more experienced users would benefit from learning in advance.

New FrameMaker Features: Turning Heads

Here are some of the changes and capabilities that have made version 9 one of the most compelling releases to date:

User Interface

It’s hard to talk about the changes that have come with FrameMaker 9 without talking about its user interface. While those who have stuck with the software since the beginning will have to re-learn where some of their favorite tools are, there’s no mistaking that the redesign is a significant improvement. In addition to helping the program look more like an Adobe product, it’s a fundamental reboot of the original Unix-based UI that had remained largely unchanged in even the most recent versions.

End-to-End CMS Integration

With enhanced WebDAV functionality, you can now interface directly with several of the most popular content management systems. With support for DITA and other structured authoring standards, users can easily incorporate efficiently composed technical writing into dynamic websites.

Fully Developed Authoring Tools

Users can now compose and edit within the publishing interface with ease. Automatic formatting, numbering, and settings for creating indexes, cross references, footnotes and whole books open up new avenues for creativity, putting more options on the table. You can also now create complex templates to simplify advanced workflows.

Improved PDF Support for All Documents

Whether you’re creating a simple one page document or a complex structured book composed to DITA or XML standards, you can print perfect PDF copies of drafts at any point of development. With CMYK support, it’s suitable for finicky art departments or printers or as a way of getting feedback from editors and collaborators. In addition to output, you can also natively incorporate comments applied to PDF versions of your work. This allows you to send out multiple review copies and bring constructive criticism back into your primary document.
This intuitive Adobe FrameMaker 9 Training Video not only covers the new features in depth, but gives comprehensive guidance to users experiencing the program for the first time. It’s a fast and affordable way to bring your skills up to speed.

Revit Architecture 2010 Training Video

Featuring audio instruction by architecture technology educator Temesgen Hussein, this hands-on Revit Architecture 2010 Training Video is a great way for new users to learn the ins and outs of of this powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution. Even users who’ve worked with prior releases of the software will appreciate the attention the course pays to new features and time-saving tips and advice.
Available both online through an instant subscriber plan or as one tutorial package on CD / DVD, it’s an extremely flexible way to learn. Lessons can be viewed in the order they are outlined or on an ad hoc basis, skipping around to topics that the user wants to review. Because the lessons are split into short, watchable clips, the training is easy to fit into your schedule whether you have hours to spend on end or just a few minutes each day. Unlike classroom training at many more times the cost, this innovative tutorial format gives users the ability to truly learn at their own pace.

Revit Architecture 2010: New Features, More Functionality

For the newest edition of its respected building design software, Autodesk software designers decided to take on some of the professional challenges expressed by its active client base and take the technology to a whole new level. Many minor improvements that have made their way into everyday tasks and several big additions make 2010 of the best releases to date.
User Interface: Changing a longstanding UI is always a bit of a gamble because it can annoy or isolate your established user base. Taking a cue from Microsoft and the ribbon-style interface of its latest Office applications, Autodesk has sought to incorporate context-specific menus and icons into its more popular lines of products, and Revit Architecture is just the latest tool to receive this upgrade. While Revit fans are still undecided, the new interface undeniably gives more screen real estate for actual design and shortens the time it takes to execute several tasks. As people become more comfortable with the format, they will find that it still allows for great design.
Conceptual Design Tools: Giving a little competition to industry favorite SketchUp, Revit now allows modeling and sketching tools for doing geometric conceptual designs. This replaces the massing functionality found in previous versions but greatly increases the accuracy with which users can create scale and actually adapt their models to building designs.
3D Hardware Enhancement: Users who have capable hardware now have the option of boosting the 3D performance of Revit. Anti-aliasing in 3D views and bettering rendering times means a better presentation for clients and colleagues and more time dedicated to productivity.
In order to get the full advantage of these and other new features, getting the right guidance is essential. This Revit Architecture 2010 Training Video features detailed walkthroughs of real world design challenges and tells you everything you need to know to master the new user interface. It’s intuitive cost-effective training that works.

.

Advanced Concepts AutoCAD 2010 Training Video

This multi-part Advanced AutoCAD 2010 Training Video has been designed to help experienced users improve their skills and come to terms with the functionality that the newest release of the software has to offer. Developed around a series of hands-on examples, the course uses a practical, narrated video format that speeds up the learning process while allowing you to set your own schedule. By organizing the training into short, subject-focused lessons, the tutorial lets you easily split your learning into just a few minutes per day or hours at a time.
The instruction itself is produced to a remarkably high standard. Developed by longtime CAD expert and Autodesk Approved Instructor Shaun Bryant (AAI), the tips and tricks included throughout the course are presented within the confines of a professional workflow. You quickly begin to see how flexible AutoCAD 2010 can be, with a range of new features including 3D free-from design tools for modeling purposes as well as a new focus on customization that lets you specialize the program to your needs.
This advanced training places an emphasis on communication. No one develops within a bubble, and by learning how to effectively utilize annotation, tables, formatting and sharable templates and sheet sets, getting usable drafts of your ideas and designs distributed across a team of engineers or a list of clients has never been so easy.
The training video itself is available online as part of a subscriber-based service or as a hardcopy resource on CD / DVD. Both Mac and Windows compatible, you can watch lessons at your workstation or on a laptop while you’re on the road.

Customize and Specialize for Different Types of Use

While the user interface enhancements in AutoCAD 2010 are arguably less dramatic than the changes introduced to the software with version 2009, there are a number of default improvements and tweaks that make it easier to get common tasks done. What is more remarkable, though, apart from the default workspace is the full fledged ability to transform your tools into a custom environment suited to your specific line of work.
In addition to letting you select from comprehensive workflow options during the software’s initial setup, Autodesk allows users access to a powerful scripting language that lets you automate repetitive and tedious tasks. With access to databases, graphics hardware and software and core commands, savvy users now have access to what is essentially a new development platform, with the ability to share scripts with other AutoCAD users.
As always, AutoCAD’s prominent position within the professional software market means there are many plugins that extend functionality. Downloads from Autodesk software partners are available in a number of languages to help you work more efficiently than ever before.
In order to take full advantage of AutoCAD’s extensibility, it’s important to have the right training. As the third installment of a three part tutorial series, this AutoCAD 2010 Advanced Concepts Training Video offers an intuitive way to learn the software inside and out.

AutoCAD 2010 Intermediate Training Video

Knowing how to use AutoCAD is an essential skill in many lines of work. This engaging Intermediate 2010 AutoCAD Tutorial Video – Training CD – DVD takes those who have a basic command of the program and shows them how to master common challenges and techniques that let them get to the next level of complexity and efficiency in their communication and designs.
By skipping the fundamentals and dealing exclusively with a higher level of tasks, the CAD training video lets you focus on what you need to know to advance your skills. AutoCAD 2010 has so many usable features and tools that no single course could adequately address its complexity from top to bottom. By dividing subjects in order of difficulty across more than one title, users are free to learn AutoCAD at their own pace without feeling distracted or overwhelmed by information they are not ready for or simply do not need. CAD expert Shaun Bryant narrates this intermediate level course, starting right where previous lessons left off and showing you how to get to new levels of productivity from AutoCAD software.
The tutorial is first and foremost convenient. Because of the complexity of AutoCAD, it’s a mainstay at training seminars and expensive consulting packages; this tutorial video gives you the same level of instruction in a format that lets you learn at your own pace. Accessible online or as a AutoCAD CD / DVD training package, you can spend hours in a row with the material or fit it into a few extra minutes of your day. Best of all, you can pause, rewind and repeat sections as you need to.

High End Improvements for High End Users

AutoCAD 2010 brings many changes to enhance the basic user experience. A streamlined interface and the simplification of many dialogs improves efficiency right from the start, but instead of sticking with just surface improvements, Autodesk engineers have also introduced new capabilities for more advanced AutoCAD users:
Better 3D Support – This is one that many people have been waiting for. Taking a cue from 3D modeling and animation tools, users can now create free-form 3D objects within AutoCAD that have complex mesh-based surfaces. 3D tools have been rethought to work more like familiar 2D design commands, and you can rotate, scale and stretch whole organic models in real time.
Advanced Automation – New to AutoCAD 2010 is also the Action recorder to essentially create your own macros without the aid of a CAD manager. This lets seasoned users recreate the most repetitive and time-consuming tasks with just a few clicks. It’s a power user feature long overdue.
Presentation Upgrades – One handy feature for those looking for perfect presentation is the ShowMotion technology, which gives you camera animation features when putting together digital walkthroughs of your design. Support for PDFs, importing and exporting natively, of course, is the game-changing presentation upgrade that effects all users.
The AutoCAD 2010 Intermediate Training Video covers a lot more than just new and useful features. It shows you how to use the whole program to get consistently better results. See what you can learn with the free demos on the product site.

Ideal Beginners Gimp Tutorial Video. Narrated by a leading Graphics expert, this video based training CD covers Gimp 2.6 in a practical and easy to follow format.

.

GIMP Training Video – Tutorial

Here is a great multi-part GIMP Training Video that demystifies the software’s distinctive menus and setup and shows you how to use its powerful tools and features to come up with some impressive results.
Because GIMP is free, open-source software, it’s not difficult to find several free, open source tutorials around the web. But their quality can be spotty, they often leave out important steps and they usually only cover one or two tips a piece. This video based training series gives you a consistent, high-quality introduction to the program and a comprehensive walkthrough of its capabilities and tricks. Utilizing an engaging instructional video format, you get to see tasks performed in real-time, with expert guidance and advice from professional designer James Street.
You are free to pause, rewind, fast forward or repeat whole videos at any point, and when combined with included work files you’ll find that the whole system is geared so that you can learn hands-on at your own pace. Like GIMP itself, the training videos are playable on multiple operating systems, which allows you to watch from practically any computer. If you want to find out what you can accomplish with this community-developed software, the GIMP 2.6 Training Video is a great place to start.

Upgrades and Updates for GIMP 2.6

Just as when more commercial software products reach an upgrade or new phase of development, it’s exciting when free open-source software gets a needed round of fixes and innovation. GIMP 2.6 is a smart step in the right direction, with several improvements that will change the way users get work done:
User interface gets some help – The removal of the toolbox menubar and the ability to manage the toolbox and docks as utility windows removes some of the confusion new users often face and makes the program play a little bit more nicely with different operating systems.
Improved tools and features – The free select tool can now be used to highlight custom polygonal areas, and new settings for brush dynamics mean that users will have more options when using a peripheral stylus or drawing tool.
New Image Processing Engine – The GEGL framework will ultimately allow GIMP users to work in higher level bit depths and make changes to their images without committing them to the original file. The implementation of GEGL is not activated by default, and some of the functionality still needs to be worked out, but its inclusion in this release means the changes are in the pipe.
As GIMP becomes an even more powerful tool for image and photo work, it’s only a matter of time before it makes its way onto the computers of more working graphics professionals for more than just basic functions. As it stands already, the program can be used to create compelling content for home and the web, and these step by step training video lessons show you how. The right knowledge can open up your creative possibilities.

.

Digidesign Pro Tools 8 Training Video

Here is an effective Digidesign Pro Tools 8 Training Video suitable for anyone who is serious about breaking into professional audio production. Written and narrated by seasoned audio engineer and instructor Adam Olson, the lessons will give you a straightforward introduction to the industry-standard software with an emphasis on practical skills and real world results.
With a professionally produced visual presentation, you get to learn Pro Tools by seeing techniques done one step at a time. No need to get lost a book’s wordy descriptions when you can pause, repeat and rewind the real thing right from your own computer.

Virtual Instruments Done Right

What’s great about the instruments included in Pro Tools 8 is that they’re not limited demo versions of a bigger package or just something inserted to fill a menu screen. They’re usable instruments in their own right. Developed by the Advanced Instrument Research team at Digidesign, they provide a host of creative options that you are sure to use.
The Mini Grand is a full acoustic grand piano that lets you choose among seven different “models,” which are cleverly presented in terms of mood. It has built-in reverb and eight velocity layers for every key, giving it a pretty good range for “touch” on the digital medium. The GUI on this instrument is particularly attractive, as well.
Another fan favorite will be Boom, which is essentially a retro-style drum machine, with a pattern sequencer and ten preset kits that you can choose from (and a whole host of recommended samples based on tempo). It’s a flexible tool for many different types of electronic composition, but also a quick and dirty way to put together some dance beats.
Also included is the DB-33, which is Digidesign’s take on a Hammond B3 organ. It’s got over seventy presets to get you started and some impressive acoustic emulation that give a realistic impression of rotary speakers and old fashioned tubes. What’s more is that you can take its Leslie-style cabinet emulation and apply it to non-organ tracks, which is a neat little bonus that they didn’t have to include.
With retro in mind, the Vacuum instrument is a full featured analog-style synth. It is a menu-free monster that offers up the functions of a classic synth. Oscillators and knobs onscreen put pitch and distortion and modulation effects just a couple turns away. The final virtual instrument is an update of Xpand!, called Xpand2. With a simplified interface and double the patches available before, there’s another gig of options ready for you to try.
The Digidesign Pro Tools 8 Training Video walks you through each of these instruments and shows you how to incorporate them into an efficient workflow. Not only does the training make it easy for you to learn how to use Pro Tools, but it also shows you how to customize your workstation so that it suits your particular needs.
Ideal Beginners AutoCAD 2010 tutorial video. Narrated by a leading AutoCAD expert, this video based training CD covers AutoCAD 2010 in a practical and easy to follow format.

.

AutoCAD 2010: Mastering 2D Concepts Training Video

This just in: a solid new AutoCAD 2010 Mastering 2D Concepts Training Video that you can watch online or buy on CD / DVD. Taught by Autodesk Approved Instructor (AAI) Shaun Bryant, it covers many of the new features included in the latest version but dedicates the bulk of the course to showing users how to use the software to master basic drawing, plotting and editing within the program interface. As every serious CAD project starts with drawing, this course is a smart, hands-on way to jump into the software.
While it’s extremely helpful for a beginner, the training incorporates the same modular approach that has been proven to work well in the past. Videos are split up by specific subjects, so more experienced users can skip around and review lessons in any order they want.

AutoCAD 2010: Better Work Through Better Communication

While it’s a well known workhorse for designers working one on one with their projects, AutoCAD has traditionally not performed as well as it should when it comes to collaboration. Finally, new features show that Autodesk engineers are taking steps in the right direction, helping users share drafts of their designs and receive feedback in new ways.

PDF Integration

One major item on wishlists for some time has been solid PDF support directly within AutoCAD. Finally, the calls have been answered. Export menus allow a variety of quality settings and advanced options, with the ability to export true-type fonts as text instead of graphics and image quality up to 600dpi for extremely precise renderings.
The new PDF support doesn’t stop at exporting, either. Users can now import PDF designs sent by others, with adjustments to show and hide layers and adjust the PDF layer transparency so that plans can be overlaid for tracing and comparison. Finally, it’s easy for users to share their diagrams and drafts in a compact and widely accessible file format.

DWG Format

The longstanding DWG file format has been updated to resolve common complaints and expand its range of capabilities. AutoCAD 2010 is fully backwards compatible, though, and can open older DWGs without a hitch. The format is practically an industry-recognized standard in and of itself, as it allows extremely complex creations to retain necessary information between different users and versions.

Advanced Rendering

Photorealistic imaging and effects means that what you design appears onscreen exactly as it will look once it reaches production. New and improved rendering technology allows clients and colleagues to see your ideas as they are meant to be seen and allows you to become more creative and effective in managing your own expectations.

Microsoft Exchange 2007 Training Video

This unique Microsoft Exchange 2007 Training Video series offers a fresh and much-needed introduction to the powerful email server software. Suitable for enterprise use as well as small businesses, Exchange has become a necessary part of many companies’ technology departments.
There’s no question about it: email gets business done. Nothing beats the ability to quickly send an important message to a customer or client in a matter of seconds, from one side of the world to another. When used correctly, an Exchange server can make the email experience even better. It offers a number of tools and settings to streamline the way your in-house messaging server works and open up new possibilities for communication.
These studio-quality training videos show you everything you need to know to install, configure and manage a Microsoft Exchange server on your own. Not only do you get a walkthrough of the process, but a guided tour of the software filled with expert tips and tricks that will help you optimize your setup. Whether you’ve used other email server software in the past or you’re approaching Exchange as a beginner, these instructional videos break down even complex tasks into simple steps that you can follow. Watch the first three chapters on this Microsoft Exchange 2007 Tutorial Video for FREE.

Reasons to Go with Microsoft Exchange 2007

For this release, Microsoft has built upon many of Exchange’s past strengths and has also added new features and functionality that make it even more valuable in the modern business place:
•	Improved backup features lower costs. The Local Continuous Replication software new to Exchange allows data redundancy and quick recovery options, minimizing the need to frequently back up to tape storage. Special support for use on server clusters also offers significant advantages in efficiency.
•	Employees get constant access to email, calendars, voicemail and contacts. Inbox information can now be checked from remote laptops, web browsers, and mobile devices to get up-to-date on messages, tasks and helpful information. An informed worker is often a more productive one.
•	New features protect your mailing systems from spam, viruses and outside attacks. Integrated solutions will stop malicious code and attacks before they have a chance to damage systems on your network. It’s also easier to use your own antivirus and antispam software in conjunction with Exchange.
•	Experience a better web-based experience. Outlook Web Access 2007 gives users access to an online Outlook 2007-like interface for managing email (with attachments), contacts and calendar events from anywhere they can open an internet browser. The security has also been improved in this departments so IT can rest a little easier.
•	A new command-line interface gives power users a more efficient way to work. Based on Windows Powershell, the new framework allows administrators to automate a number of common and tedious tasks with scripts. The graphical management tool has also been improved.

No matter your reasons for upgrading to Exchange 2007, you won’t get very far if you don’t have the knowledge to properly use it. These training videos offer a hassle-free way to learn the software.

Learn how to use Adobe AIR in conjunction with PHP to create amazing desktop applications that work across all operating systems. These AIR tutorials are aimed towards the beginner and show the steps required to quickly create and deploy scaleable applications using this amazing framework.

.

Adobe AIR & PHP Training Video

This is an interesting Adobe AIR & PHP Development Training Video that offers an in-depth look at a development technology poised for the future of web-user interaction. The Adobe AIR platform strikes the necessary balance between the information and content capabilities of the web with the power and flexibility native, desktop-based programs have always had.
Drawn up by longtime PHP and AIR expert Richard Bates, this instructional tutorial video series isn’t just a glossy overview of Adobe AIR and some of it’s more superficial features. These tutorials get hands-on with the code, and give a thorough look at developing for AIR with both Adobe-provided tools and flexible open-source resources. Users will learn how to make desktop applications with the Adobe Flex Builder Integrated Development Environment (IDE), how to create data-rich web services with PHP and how to connect the AIR applications with the server-side code. Other topics that get attention are the AIR user interface controls, ActionScript 3, using MySQL databases for storing data, and using third-party APIs within your AIR projects. There’s really nothing else out there right now that compares to this method for learning to develop with AIR and PHP.

Adobe AIR: Great Possibilities for the Business Sector

Even though it’s a new technology, many companies including NASDAQ, eBay, and Yahoo! have already begun using the AIR platform to develop in-house and customer-focused applications. In the competition to get more information about your business into the viewing space of everyday internet users, gaining a presence on the desktop (especially one that is useful) can give you a serious advantage. With the ability to deploy on Windows, Mac and Linux computers, the possibilities are more open than ever.
Your customer will have a branded, steady connection to your company. While it’s probably not a good idea to hit them over the head with aggressive marketing strategies, subtle use of this relationship can build consumer confidence and help you long term.
Another benefit of going with AIR is that you can take advantage of your existing development staff and information infrastructures to create your AIR apps. The whole point of AIR is not reinventing the wheel. Both AIR and Flex have been designed to work in conjunction with existing web-based programming languages and with support for the databases and APIs you already use.
Adobe offers a streamlined release process for both public and internal AIR applications. Businesses developing in-house tools can deploy them using frameworks they already have in place, such as IBM Tivoli or Microsoft SMS, and Adobe makes it easy for widely released programs to be downloaded and updated online.
Whether you’re doing your development on PC or Mac, the training video has you covered. Special instructions for installing the necessary development tools are included for both, and the lessons themselves (online or on CD / DVD) will play on either operating system. It’s a smart training resource that helps bridge the gap between your existing development and the new possibilities the technology offers.

.

Microsoft Certified Application Specialist Training Video

Do you work in a position that makes heavy use of Microsoft Office and want acknowledgement of your professional competence? This MCAS Training Video series covers everything you need to know to prepare for the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist exams, with specific sections devoted to tests 77-600 through 77-605, covering Access 2007, Windows Vista, and other Microsoft Office 2007 programs including Powerpoint, Word, Outlook and Excel.
Designed as a practical preparation tool, the training video course starts at the beginning, outlining how MCAS certification works before moving into hands-on examples that teach you the techniques you need to know to pass. Special sections are devoted to each specific software title, and videos are further divided based on the techniques being shown, so you can use the course as a quick and flexible reference or follow the lessons in order.
At nine and a half hours, the training addresses major points that help with overall productivity as well as detailed techniques that prepare you for the performance-based MCAS exams. Although users who already have experience with the software will have an advantage (even Microsoft suggests users seeking their MCAS credit have 6 months to a year of experience), the course can also serve as a starting point for motivated professionals and also significantly lower the amount of time it takes to learn the software at hand. Whether you’re using this course on its own or as one key part of a comprehensive preparation strategy, you will not be disappointed.

MCAS: Microsoft Access 2007

If you frequently use MS Access at work or if you want to make inroads into the field of user-focused database design, getting the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist credential for Access 2007 can be a relatively easy way to move your career forward. As an extension of the Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) program before it, the MCAS title is an instantly recognizable way of telling employers and clients that you know how to use the program for a variety of tasks in a multi-user environment.
77-605 is the number for the Access Core Exam. As previously mentioned, the testing for the MCAS is performance-based, which means that the test essentially has no questions. Instead, you are presented with specific tasks and challenges to solve. How efficiently and effectively you accomplish the tasks determines your score. The MCAS for Access is build around six subjects: Structuring a Database, Creating and Formatting Database Elements, Entering and Modifying Data, Creating and Modifying Queries, Presenting and Sharing Data, and Managing and Maintaining Databases. There are specific tasks when each subject area, all built around the real world demands of business use.
As you can tell, it’s a serious test, and preparation is essential. Our MCAS Training Video gives you an in-depth walkthrough of not only the Access test but those for other Office 2007 programs as well. The use of practical, hands-on examples with included work files make our solution more useful and easy to use than any other resource available.
